Our Story

From a Simple Idea to India's #1 Services Marketplace

Workpur was born in 2015 from a personal frustration. Our founder, Arjun Mehta, spent three days trying to find a reliable plumber for his aging mother's home in Mumbai — and couldn't. That experience sparked a vision.

We realised millions of skilled workers — plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters — were struggling to find consistent work, while millions of households struggled to find trustworthy help. The gap was a technology problem waiting to be solved.

Today, Workpur operates across 200+ cities, has empowered 50,000+ workers, and facilitated over 1,20,000 successful jobs — changing lives on both sides of every transaction.

Workpur Founded

Arjun Mehta and Sneha Kapoor co-found Workpur in a small Mumbai office with just 8 team members and a vision to connect local workers with customers digitally.

2016
March 2016
First 1,000 Workers Onboarded

Launched in Mumbai and Pune. Onboarded the first 1,000 verified workers across 12 categories. Raised our Seed round of ₹3.5 crore from angel investors.

Series A & National Expansion

Raised ₹22 crore Series A. Expanded to Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Launched the mobile app and introduced the escrow payment system.

10,000 Workers & Agency Module

Hit 10,000+ verified workers milestone. Launched the Agency module allowing contractors to manage teams of workers. Introduced Aadhaar-linked KYC for workers.
